Since I was on 3 day vacation leave (I was not at work for 5 days including my 2 day offs) and will be returning to work later, I opened my emails and checked if there are any updates at work. Whoa! 45 new emails! I read each and every email and as I was reading my emails, this one is forwarded to me and I would like to share it to all of you.
Don't Take any Business Cards (BURUNDANGA - New Modus)A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a
female putting petrol in her car and left his card. She said
no ,but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the
car. The man then got into a car driven by another
gentleman.
As the lady left the service station, she saw the
men following her out of the station at the same time.
Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not
catch her breath. She tried to open the window and realized
that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted
the card from the gentleman at the service station.
She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and
she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She
drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn
repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady
still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could
finally catch her breath. Apparently, there was a substance
on the card that could have seriously injured her.
This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA' and it is used by
people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal
from or take advantage of them.
This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape
drug and is transferable on simple cards.
So take heed and make sure you don't accept cards at
any given time alone or from someone on the streets. This
applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card
when they offer their services .
That was the content of the email I read. Since the holidays is approaching, there are a lot of modus operandi that others are doing just to take advantage of people on this holiday rush. Be vigilant when withdrawing money from the bank or ATMs. Especially for those who already received their 13th month pay. When going shopping or buying gifts, don't wear too much expensive accessories, don't wear clothes that will call attention that you are going on a major shopping, always keep your belongings attended, don't text or send SMS on crowded places. don't bring gadgets to places that you know are crowded. Most of all be alert and on look out of suspicious people. Don't wear back packs, if you do, put padlocks to keep them secure. Those are some of my advices. Enjoy the pre-holiday rush!
