Brain clog and a poem on the side

I wanted to reply to those who stopped and took a moment of their time to post their comments on my post but my brain don't permit it. Lately, I am having headaches that I can't describe. Sometimes it is painful sometimes it's tolerable. When I go home from work, I just want to sleep and wake up feeling bloated and don't have the appetite to eat. To all those who stop and read my blog and comment, I sincerely thank you all. I'll find time to reply to you back soon

I think our Brain is the most powerful among our body parts/organs. When we get headaches and the meds that we take don't cure the ache, off to bed we go. Lots of meds to cure headaches but there is one that will suit us. As I am writing this post, I'm already feeling sleepy and hoping that when I wake up later, I won't feel bloated again. Or else off to work I go with an empty stomach due to loss of appetite to eat..

Speaking of clogs, I was able to somehow clean my room and somehow relieved it from clogs and clutters. I found my old CDs, diskettes way back in college and before diskettes, floppy disks. Yes! I still have those old floppy disks tucked in my old books back in college. Oh yeah, and later is our very first high school batch reunion that I can't attend to because I need to sleep 'coz I got to work tonight.

Going back to the clutter and old stuffs I found in my room, finally I found the little diary I kept when I was in high school. It is a diary where I wrote some of my poems. Yes I write poems when I was in high school and I was also looking for my drawing book, but I couldn't find it. I was also doing some sketches and drawings during my elementary and high school days just to cure my boredom from watching my late grand ma's merchandising store.

Let me share to you one of the poems I wrote back then.

My Friend, My Love

Everyday I see you in school
And whenever I see you, my heart pounds heavily
When our paths cross you say a simple "Hi"
And hold my hands

If I don't see your face nor your shadow
You couldn't tell what my face looks like
And see you with another person
Something in my heart, that I don't understand

And when I am with you
You can't tell how happy I am
But what I feel for you, you don't know
You only know that we are just Friends

Let's pause for a commercial break

Nowadays, I seldom watch TV because I spend my time after work playing lawn tennis or surfing the net. One time I was watching a evening program and there are always commercial breaks. Not just one commercial but several of them especially if the program is being watched by many and hitting high ratings. I was tired of watching many infomercials and other commercials and I was about to switch channel when a new commercial came up.

I didn't switch the channel and watch the commercial. The commercial is about a little kid (bulilit is what we call little kids ages 1-5 in the Philippines) and she is living in a big new house. The commercial is for Camella homes endorsement. Camella homes is one of the housing developer in the Philippines. As I was watching the commercial, the kid thought she is living in a small house that's why she is moving little by little around the house and finally she realizes that she is now living in a big new home. The kid is cute! And I wonder who she is for that is the first time I saw the kid on national television.

Almost everyone at my work is talking about the commercial and the kid. I searched the internet for the commercial and I found it. I want to share it to you and I also found out that her name is Cha-Cha Canete. She is 4 years old. She once played in the noontime show at Eat Bulaga called Kontrapelo. I found a video too when she played at the noontime show.

Here is the commercial and the video when she played,

Hey! It's all about Nhey!

It has been 35 years... You were a kid, teenager, now a lady and mother. Second to 5 siblings and you are all girls. Blessed with 2 lovely daughters. I was not with you all through those years, nonetheless, I am part of those 35 years. Am I right BFF?

I can't tell everything about her in those years of her life but I can tell you about her when I became part of her. It all started early 90's. I have vivid memories of those times since I was in my elementary. I won't go into details but that's the first time we have met. I think she was in her 3rd or 4th year in college taking Education course. She was one of our practice teacher and mentor. After I graduated elementary, I no longer saw her. Then destiny let us be re-united after 10 years. Destined that I give her a nudge or shake on her shoulders and wake her up to her wits and senses. Sometimes she needed that. And what I don't like most about her is that she keeps herself from all people when she has a problem. Well that's her and I'm not planning to change her. I love her for what she is now..

I have been talking all about her and forgot to introduce her, sorry about that. I have been mentioning her in some of my blog post. She is Nhey Sison or Benilda Lacap Sison for long, LOL! She writes comments on my blog posts as Viper and she is no ther than my BFF! I won't reveal all about her today because it's her special day. Yup, it's her Birthday! How old is she you asked? Better read again the beginning of this blog post but mind you, age is only a number.

Nhey

I'm very proud of her because she stand as a father and mother, best friend and good provider to her 2 daughter. And obedient, helpful, reliable sibling and daughter to her parents. She is hard-working, competent, humble, God-fearing, a good leader, loving, sweet, patient and there are a lot more! As a friend, she will give you whatever she can give. For me, she is a superwoman and miss independent. She has her ups and downs, well everyone has that. She's not perfect, but she is for me and in her own rights.

Nhey's daugthers, Bea and Joby

She is a flexible person. She works hard for the benefit of her family especially for her daughters. Even if she is tired from work, she make sure that everything is okay with her kids. Also takes quality or bonding time wit her kids. When kids have classes, she make sure that all homework are done and reviews them with their lessons at school. With that, kids are among the top of their class.

Nhey loves to read any reading material. She also writes short stories and poems. She loves to watch Korean novelas on the Internet and movies that are romantic, but if you are watching with her make sure that you have a box of tissue ready for wiping her tears because she gets too emotional just by watching those drama stories. So she can't watch with my mother or else the place would be flooded, LOL!

Well, we are both emotional, we love nature and likes listening to Jennifer Lopez's (JLO) songs. Aside from writing, she loves to dance and sing. We are both music lovers. There are things that only us understands and we cannot or don't know how to explain them. She has lots and lots of admirers and some stalkers and after this post, they might be more on the way and I hope they are not stalkers. She's a typical Filipina, simple, morena and beautiful. But we don't know hot to cook dishes, we just love to eat, LOL!

Hmmm... what else... Okay I won't reveal more about her cause she might throw things at me the next time we meet. Peace BFF hehehe...

I won't tell here what is the name I call my BFF, that is between her and me. But my message to you my BFF is (and I'm always telling you) I'm here always at your side even though we don't often see each other or communicate all the time. I'm just here waiting for you to shout my name and you know how and where to reach me. You know me, less talk and more actions.

To you my BFF, I wish you happiness, good health, success and strength in your life. I pray that God give you His abundant blessings and keeps you safe. I wish that what your heart's desire will come true.

For the Light and Lady of the house

I believe in actions speaks louder than words. But in times like this that I would like others to know how do I feel... Words are golden *wink*

These are the messages I say not only to my Mom, my BFF's Mom and my BFF but to all the Mommy, Mother, Nanay, Mudra, Mamang, Mom in the whole wide world. Also to those non-biological Mothers out there. Here are my messages,

Have you hug your mom today? Well what are you waiting for!

There are lots of things we can do for our Mom's today. They are there 24/7 for us and this is the only day for them so let's give them a break on home chores and pamper them. Treat them for a dine out or a massage. For those of you that their Mom's have passed away, you can visit them, say prayers and light candles. You can stay with them for the whole day near their graves. Even if they are already on the other life, they are still there watching for you. God Bless all the Mothers in the whole world!

First of all...

This month of May is my first year anniversary as a blogger. I would like to thank my friend Jules for advising me to create my own blog. I was reading his blog before I made my blog and he told me why don't you make your own blog and it will be your own world. True! This blog of mine became my own world in the Internet. It is a window of my personality and what I am thinking, seeing and feeling. I don't know what title shall I give to my blog and since everything in here is what is one my mind, I finally decided to call it WRITING MIND.

There are times that I wish to write an entry here in my blog but can't find the correct words to express it. I'm not a writer but I am trying to. This is also a training ground for me to learn how to write. If you think I have typing errors on my post, don't hesitate to shoot me a comment and tell me which one I should fix. You can also shoot me some suggestions that you wish to read here at my blog.

I met so many people here in blogosphere. People that became my online friends and some shoots me an email and we chat through email or yahoo messenger. I won't tell who they are and I might miss one of them, LOLz! Anyway, you guys know who you are. I like to thank people all over the world that are visiting my blog and taking time to read my entries. I didn't expect to keep up with posting here because I thought I can't write so many things. I like to share things that I know and this blog gave me the opportunity to do so.

How time flies and already it's my first year in the blogging world. I hope I could post lots of things here as the days move and go by. And I hope you will keep on visiting and reading my entries.

To you who read this Thank you for your time =)

Today is also Labour/Labor Day here in the Philippines. The first Labor Day celebrations took place on May 1, 1903. I know that crisis affected every country that I know of. Many are still jobless even if our government is telling us that there are lots of companies who are hiring people. Yes, there are companies hiring but not all are qualified for the job.

I was watching the noon time news and companies are telling their workers that there is no wage hike for Labor Day. Previous years, workers get their wage hike every year aside from compensation. Every Labor Day, workers gather and rally around the city of Manila to voice out their needs to the government. It's not that the government is not doing anything with their requests especially about wage hike but there are things that the government cannot handle anymore and there is nothing to be done. I know that it's not easy to find a job. A job that you want. They say that find a job that you want will make your work everyday like playing in a playground. It's easy to say but not easy to find.

There are some companies that are not following the Labor code and taking advantage of their workers. Workers that are working in these kind of companies are afraid to voice out what is happening in their company to the government because they are afraid of losing their jobs if they will reveal the anomalies going on. I hope employers will realize what they are doing and give what is really for their workers. Workers are not slaves. They are here to work in order to live in this country.

May 1 is a national holiday in Albania, Argentina, Aruba, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, China, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Iceland, India, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, North Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, the Philippines (spelled as "Labor Day"), Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Sweden, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Happy Labour Day!

It's nice to be back! Game time!

Atlassst! I am finally officially back playing one of my favorite sports. Never mind the scourging heat of the sun. I started playing again Lawn Tennis last month. But unlike before, I was playing almost 4 times a week. But now I can't for I have lots to do but I still manage to play Lawn Tennis atleast twice or thrice a week. I'm glad that I am back playing because I also need to lose weight LOLz! I wish I could go back to dancing too. But for the meantime, playing Lawn Tennis is what I shall do. This is my stress buster and weight buster, LOL!

Here are the photos I took at the tennis court where I play.

Angeles City, Philippines

Coach Ric Manalo

Coach Ric is one of the coach or trainer of the Lawn Tennis players in Angeles City. He also trains some players who are taking part on the National Games on Lawn Tennis. His wife and 2 kids are lawn tennis players too. His daughter Nikki Manalo is a champion in lawn tennis. I forgot which division she is included. Also his son Joshua Manalo is also a lawn tennis champion. Coach Ric teaches lawn tennis to kids as early as 2 years old. There is no age limit as long as one can still play tennis. He teach basic, advance and professional tennis. His hard work, patience and skills molds the lawn tennis players of Angeles City. During his time, he won several championships in lawn tennis. I am amazed on how he teaches lawn tennis to kids because in just one week, a kid can play lawn tennis for beginners. There are some kids that really don't have the talent in playing this sport, however, Coach Ric will not give up that easily once he know a kid has a potential in playing lawn tennis. He teaches from morning even high noon until late afternoon depending on the available time of the person he will teach or train.

Here are some of the kids that he teach to learn lawn tennis

These are Alfred and Paula Inofre, they are siblings

Alfred takes the shot and...

Follows through.

Paula or Pau takes her shot and...

Follows through.. nice!

This is Alfred. They call him Red for short. He is 9 years old. Last year both of them started taking lawn tennis lessons from Coach Ric. They only get to play lawn tennis when they are here in Angeles City because they go to school in Manila. I get to chat with them during their break time taking lessons. Red is a shy type kid but once you ask him about computer stuffs and online computer games, he starts to talk and talk, LOLz! At his age, he can already play lawn tennis. I was not able to see them last week for they took a vacation and I hope I could see them next week.

It's a bit difficult to teach lawn tennis to kids because if they don't have the confidence and initiative to learn the sport, they won't learn and would easily get iritated. Coach Ric once told me he taught a 2 years old kid who is still wearing her diaper as Coach Ric teaches her. She can hit 10 to 15 tennis balls. After that she would tell Coach Ric "ayaw ko na (I don't want anymore)", LOLz! Then they will stop the lesson and resumes the next day hehehe.. I saw that kid once, she is beautiful like a little cherubin. I salute Coach Ric for his patience and perseverance in teaching lawn tennis.

I will post more of my courtside lawn tennis adventure next time so stay tuned! =)

Earth Day 2009

Today we celebrate Earth Day. It is the day to be aware and appreciate our home, the Earth. All living and non-living things in nature are on Earth. It is held annually during both spring in the northern hemisphere and autumn in the southern hemisphere. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year.

From the Earth Hour held last March 28, where in all lights from houses, some streets and establishments were turned off for an hour 8:30pm to 9:30pm PST to remember and be aware that mother nature needs our help to keep the earth well maintained and cared for.

There are now many disasters that our world is encountering. From climate or sudden weather change, flash flood, erosion, pollution (land, air and water), earthquake and global warming. If you would compare our surroundings before, now many are taking advantage of our nature and they are not aware of what they are doing which destroys earth.

Yesterday, around 3am Philippine time, there is an earthquake I felt. I think it is around 2 to 2.5 magnitude on the Richter scale. It lasted for a minute and thank God nothing awful happened for I am at work. But some of my co-workers got scared. I was thinking of my family and friends at that time. It's not usual to have earthquakes. The last country I heard that was hit by a massive earthquake was in Italy, were many died.

I no longer enjoy riding the jeepney because pollution hits my nose and I come home with a dirty nose and face. Smoke belchers don't care if they polluted the air with tons of black smoke from their vehicles. Even factories no longer care if they pollute both the air and water. I was watching a show in one of our local channels last Sunday and they featured Pasig River for an advance tribute to Earth Day. What I saw really really made me sad and disgusted at the same time. Let's face it, there are many projects to revive the Pasig River, but how come non is successfully. Why I said non is successful? Because the river is still polluted and other parts of it already produce methane gas because of the garbage piles under the water aside from the garbage along it's river banks. Pasig River used to be a cool and refreshing spot I think in the early 60's. But now, I don't even want to go near it because of the bad smell of the water. Thank you very much for those people who are trying to rehabilitate the Pasig River, I salute all of you.

Here are some photos I found on the Internet that somewhat related to the environment.

People look at an eruption of an underwater volcano in Hunga Ha'apai, Tonga, March 18. The blast is only 34 nautical miles off the coast of Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa.

Environmentalists have big plans for robotic fish like this one shown at the London Aquarium. The carp-shaped machines, which cost $29,000 a piece, are being released into sea off northern Spain to detect pollution. The robots mimic the movement of real fish and are equipped with chemical sensors to sniff out potentially hazardous pollutants.

Laundry hangs outside a student dormitory at a college in Wuhan, China. I think this will help in electricity conservation, don't you think?

I forgot if this is Sunrise or Sunset but it is definitely in Mumbai, India. This is the photo I like most. Let's take care of our environment so that we can see the clear blue sky and rays of the sun not the gray and polluted sky.

I hope by the year 2015, we still have a place to live called Earth if all of us will do something for our environment. Let's start by not using plastic bags and use alternatives to replace plastic bags. Let us recycle. It's true that there is money in garbage but we need to be patient in segregating the garbage in order for us to sell those recyclable materials. Instead of throwing your used plastic bottles of energy drinks or soda and aluminum cans, you can take that home and collate them in one sack and later on you will see that you have just collected recyclable materials that you can sell and turn into money. It's not too late, we can make a change.
